The monthly series that offers at least one movie screening at Edmond Town Hall Theatre, 45 Main Street, will continue this weekend. Seven free screenings are planned, thanks to sponsor Ingersoll Auto of Danbury.Beauty and The Beast, this time told with a live cast, which will be featured at the theater June 9-15.Beauty and The Beast is the story of a monstrous-looking prince (Dan Stevens) imprisoned in the form of a beast, who can be freed only by true love, and Belle (Emma Watson), the only human girl to visit the prince's castle since it was enchanted.A.O. Scott of The New York Times said in part ,"It looks good, moves gracefully and leaves and clean and invigorating aftertaste. I almost didn't recognize the flavor: I think the name for it is joy."Variety, however, Owen Gleiberman called the film "a touching, eminently watchable, at times slightly awkward experience that justifies its existence yet never totally convinces you it's a movie the world was waiting for."Rotten Tomatoes offered favorable ratings of the film, with an average of 71 percent from 277 reviews counted. The Critics Consensus was "With an enchanting cast, beautifully crafted songs, and a painterly eye for detail, Beauty and The Beast offers a faithful yet fresh retelling that honors its beloved source material."

The auto dealership and service center owned by Todd Ingersoll of Newtown is sponsoring all screenings planned for June 9-11: Friday at 7 and 9:15 pm; Saturday at 1, 4, 7 and 9:15; and Sunday at 7.

The celebrated ensemble cast also features Kevin Kline, Ewan McGregor, Ian McKellan, Emma Thompson, and Stanley Tucci.

The film is rated PG for some action, violence, peril, and frightening images. It has a running time of 2 hours, 19 minutes.

Since its release in March, Beauty and The Beast has reportedly become the tenth highest grossing film of all time, earning $1.241 billion as of June 5.
