Driving Fast
Police said they found motorist Ryan Miller, 21, of Danbury to be driving 87 miles per hour in a 40-mph zone on Route 302 about 9:30 pm December 6.
Police said they stopped Miller and charged him with reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle while under suspension. Police released Miller on a $50 bond for a December 20 appearance in Danbury Superior Court on the misdemeanor_summons charges.
Four Charges
Police report they lodged four charges against a Redding man December 10. Police charged George C. Vredenburgh, 41, with first-degree burglary, third-degree assault, interfering with police, and disorderly conduct. First-degree burglary is a Class âBâ felony. After posting a $2,500 bond, Vredenburgh was released for a January 4 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Porsche Off Road
State police said motorist Yugo W. Tsukikawa, 28, of Honolulu, Hawaii, who was driving a 1992 Porsche coupe eastbound on Interstate 84 near Exit 11 about 6 am December 10, lost control of the sports car and veered to the right, striking a small tree. Tsukikawa was not injured. State police said Tsukikawa was traveling too fast.
Grand Marquis
State police said motorist Nancy M. Cioffoletti, 63, of 78 Walnut Tree Hill Road, Sandy Hook, was traveling on the Exit 10 on-ramp of westbound Interstate 84 about 10:20 am December 8 when she lost control of the 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis she was driving in the snow.
The Mercury traveled to the right and got hung up on some guard railing. There were no injuries. State police said Cioffoletti was traveling too fast for conditions.
Jeep Vs Ford
State police said motorist Robert T. Linderman, 51, of Southington was traveling westbound on Interstate 84 near Exit 11 in a 1995 Ford Taurus in heavy traffic about 8 am December 8, when he slowed down and was struck from behind by westbound motorist David B. Lyman, 51, of Feeding Hills, Mass., who was driving a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. There were no injuries. State police said Lyman was following too closely.
Ford Mustang
State police said motorist Daniel B. Libestri, 20, of North Granby, who was driving a 1999 Ford Mustang westbound on Interstate 84 at Exit 11, failed to negotiate a left curve, slid to the right, and struck some brush, about 1:45 pm December 8.
There were no injuries. State police said Libestri was traveling too fast for conditions.
Nissan Rollover
State police said motorist Mayla A. Canada, 22, of Danbury was driving a 1993 Nissan station wagon westbound on Interstate 84 about 2:30 pm December 2 when she was cut off by an unknown vehicle, lost control of the Nissan, and overturned on the highway median.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Ms Canada to Danbury Hospital to be treated for minor injuries, state police said.
Ford Hits Rails
Motorist Georgia Santoro, 36, of White Plains, N.Y., was driving a 1991 Ford sedan on westbound Interstate 84 about 4:15 pm December 1 when she went off the left side of the road and struck guard railing, state police said.
There were no injuries. State police said Santoro failed to drive in the proper lane.
Four Charges
State police said they saw motorist Rahsaan Kelly, 27, of Brooklyn, N.Y., driving on westbound Interstate 84 and approaching Exit 9 about 2 am December 10, swerving and without tail lamps illuminated. State police said they stopped Kelly performed field sobriety tests, which he failed.
State police charged him with driving under the influence, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, failure to drive in the established lane, and operating a motor vehicle without tail lamps.
Drug Charges
About 7:40 pm December 7, state police charged three men each with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and criminal attempt to possess marijuana.
The arrests took place at the Blue Colony Diner near Exit 10 of Interstate 84, state police said.
Charged were Michael Torraco, 21, of Westport; Keith Persico, 25, of New Fairfield; and Jeremy Buchholtz, 21, of Norwalk.
The statewide narcotics task force conducted the drug investigations.
Torraco was released on a $20,000 surety bond. Persico and Buchholtz were released on $15,000 non-surety bonds each. All three men are scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court December 18 to answer the charges.
On learning that state police had Mr Persico in custody, Newtown police went to Troop A in Southbury to get him.
Newtown police brought Persico back to Newtown and charged him on a warrant with failure to respond to a violation and speeding in connection with a previous incident in Newtown.
Falling Scrap
State police report an accident involving three motor vehicles about 9:40 am December 5 near Exit 11 of eastbound Interstate 84.
 State police said they were using a laser speed detection device near Exit 11 when tractor-trailer truck driver David A. DeGrasse, 30, of Allport, Penn., saw police and slowed down. DeGrasse had been driving 78 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone, state police said.
As DeGrasse slowed down, aluminum scrap metal fell off the truckâs trailer, state police said.
Eastbound motorist Gerald T. Hedlund, 58, of Danbury, who was driving a 1999 Volkswagen sedan behind the truck, slowed down to avoid the fallen scrap metal and was then struck from behind by eastbound motorist Saroeun Sao, 21, of Danbury, who was driving a 1997 Honda coupe, state police said. The truck did not make contact with the two automobiles. There were no injuries.
State police said DeGrasse was speeding and had failed to secure his load.

Moving Violations
Police said that while on patrol about 4:45 pm December 12, they saw motorist Tyrone Elliott, 21, of Norwalk drive westbound on Mile Hill Road and then turn left onto southbound South Main Street without stopping for a red light at the intersection.
Police stopped Elliott and charged him with disobeying a red traffic signal and driving a motor vehicle while under suspension.
After processing Elliott at the police station, police released him on a promise to appear December 21 in Danbury Superior Court to face a judge on the charges.
Currituck DUI
Police said they stopped motorist David A. Moser, 50, of 9 Georges Hill Road on Currituck Road about 9:50 pm December 12 for driving 51 miles per hour in a 30-mph zone.
Police charged Moser with driving under the influence and traveling too fast.
After processing at the police station, police released Moser on bond for a January 2 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
