Newtown 7, Brookfield 6 â Newtown came back from three separate Brookfield leads to win a thrilling one run game. Colleen Cunningham had three hits and struck out 10 batters and did not allow a run over the last few innings. Natalie Dunn scored three times and was a defensive stand out at first base. Erin Begg scored twice, while Kendall Svanda, Megan Gibbons and Emma Herring all had solid hits before a large crowd at Liberty Field. Ali Kennedy and Rachel Camejo played well for the Hawks.
Newtown 3, Bethel 3 (Suspended) â Newtown and Bethel drew even in a rain-shortened game in Bethel. Megan Gibbons doubled while Jessica Jowdy, Erin Begg and Kate Siroky all singled. Madison Hauck caught well for the Hawks.
Newtown 21, New Fairfield 10 â Newtown came back from an eight-run deficit to win its first game of the travel season. Colleen Cunningham broke the game open with a three-run homer into the parking lot at the Newtown Middle School. Cunningham also struck out six and allowed no runs in the three innings she pitched. Taylor Johnson and Erin Begg pitched well in relief innings. Emma Herring had two doubles and scored three times as Ashley Cirone scored three times. Megan Gibbons, Hanna Koch, and Natalie Dunn played well defensively for the Hawks.

Newtown 10, Redding 6 â Pitcher Maggie Kennedy struck out 16 of the 18 batters she faced and led Newtown to a win over Redding. Jessica Gibbons, Monica Macchiarulo and Morgan Macchiarulo all had run-scoring singles.
Newtown 18, Bethel 4 â Jessica Gibbons singled twice, tripled, homered and drove in seven runs as Newtown pounded Bethel. Taylor Brady and Natalie Galante had three hits each as Kelly Brassard, Maggie Kennedy and Monica Macchiarulo had two hits apiece.
