Frances Kruel

Francis “Frank” Kruel, 82, husband of Clare (Bailey) Kruel, of Jeremiah Road, and Boynton Beach, Fla., died July 31 at Danbury Hospital.

Mr Kruel was born October 11, 1918, in New York City, son of the late Albert and Kathleen (Hager) Kruel. He attended local schools in Bayside, L.I., as well as Lincoln Hall in Lincolndale, N.Y. He served in the Army during World War II. Upon his return, he married his wife, Clare, in September 1947. Later, he returned to Lincoln Hall, where he became an instructor for, and was in charge of, painting the buildings. He then started his own business, Century Aluminum, in Connecticut.

Mr Kruel was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Monroe #19, AARP, and the Exchange Club of Monroe. He was also a member of Church of the Epiphany in Southbury and St Joseph’s Episcopal Church in Boynton Beach, Fla.

Besides his wife of over 50 years, he is survived by a son, Frank Kruel of Sandy Hook; a brother, Thomas Kruel of Florida; and a niece, Deanne Gurdineer of South Carolina.

A funeral service was scheduled for Friday, August 3, at 10 am at the Church of the Epiphany in Southbury. Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, August 2, from 5 to 7 pm at the Southbury funeral home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main Street, Route 7 and 67. Burial followed at Wooster Cemetery in Danbury.
