Browsing The Letters

To the Editor:

Wow, reading all the letters in last week’s Bee was heartwarming and enlightening. I feel I must comment on many of the issues and letters.

1. Miss Page — I am an opZOmist! Kudos to you for helping your friend, and Miss McMorran, you go girl! Hang in there! I can’t carve a pumpkin but I will be popping by 14 Main Street.

2. Mr & Mrs Williams — You’re right, the Highway Department really came through for the people of Newtown after Irene. It was an awful lot of work but they got it done.

3. Miss Shohet — How soon can we elect you to the BOE?

4. Mr Karlson — Not sure how to take that, but my breath is my own to do with as I wish. I do not intend for our owner-operators to “go gently into this good night” but I will “rage, rage against the light!” In Dylan Thomas’ poem the “light” is Death and in my here and now it’s the NBOE!

5. Ms Body — How wonderful for you to take the time to publicly thank Mark Edwards; and Mr Edwards, how wonderful what you are doing for people in need. Newtown people in need.

6. Mr Berendsohn — Back in the day when I went to St Rose we always had 35–40 kids per class. EAs? What were they? Never heard of ‘em. However, any hint of education you may get from my letters is totally due to St Rose, 40 kids per class or not! Good idea.

7. Mr Reda — I understand and appreciate your concerns. Living on Hanover my whole life I have thought long and hard about the road issues. My conclusion – don’t fix the roads; the potholes will slow everybody down and we’ll save the money.

8. Ms Miller — Thank you.

9. Ms Nacewicz — Really? NPD — Really?

10. Mr Rebman — Except for Debbie Leidlein.

11. Saturday, October 8, Go to Sandy Hook! Bring nonperishable items for donation!

12. Mr Gottmeier — (showing hand)

13. Mr Birden — re: putting certain other parties’ contracts out to bid; I like it, we can’t do much worse!

14. Support our owner-operators! Go to the parade on Sunday at 2 pm, wear your yellow ribbons and show them that, no matter what happens, we care!

Sincerely,

Bridget Seaman
