Mark Korotash Wins Rotary's Harley Davidson Raffle
Mark Korotash Wins Rotaryâs Harley Davidson Raffle
Excitement built at Newtown Rotaryâs food stand at the end of the Labor Day Parade as many people waited to learn who the winner of the Harley Davidson Special Edition 100th Anniversary Motorcycle would be.
Assisting at the Newtown Rotary Raffle drawing were First Selectman Herb Rosenthal, who rotated the drum, and parade marshals Rosanne Loring and Debbie Richardson, who pulled the winning ticket purchased by Mark Korotash of Newtown.
Bill Calderara, raffle chairman, immediately called Mr Korotash who thought it was a joke and immediately asked, âDid Chris Hoeffler [who sold him the ticket] put you up to this?â
Once he was convinced that the telephone call was legitimate, he expressed his excitement over having won.
Last weekend the Harley Davidson Co. celebrated its 100th year of operation and Newtown helped to celebrate their anniversary with this event.
Proceeds from the raffle are to fulfill Newtown Rotaryâs commitment to help finance the final stages of Rotary Internationalâs âImpossible Dream,â to eliminate Polio from the face of world by the year 2005, the 100th anniversary of the founding of Rotary International, Kevinâs Community Center, and numerous other organizations and projects that Newtown Rotary supports.
