Newtown 10, Southbury 8 – Newtown stormed its way back from an 8-0 deficit, getting great middle relief pitching from Alyssa Robinson (two scoreless innings) to defeat Southbury. Christine Beck closed the game with a perfect seventh inning. Rachel Marcucilli powered the comeback with a monstrous three-run home run. Marley Koschel was solid in the field and scored two runs with aggressive baserunning.

U10

Keno Graphics 20, People’s Bank 15 – Ali Kennedy tripled and doubled to lead Keno to the win. Megan Duero had three hits while Erin Begg had two hits and Tara Dawley doubled for the Green Machine. Maggie Kennedy pitched a great last inning to finish the game and Brianna Bauch played well. For People’s, Melanie Rotante had a great game with two strong innings of pitching. Jade Mather went 2-for-3 and scored three runs and Melissa Davila scored three times. Karly Oliveira played a good all around game.

Keno Graphics 11, Rich’s Keys & Locks 4 – Ali Kennedy and Megan Duero tripled and led Keno Graphics to a win in the U10 semifinals. Erin Begg and Courtney Escoda pitched well while Katie Tomascak, Mallory Dunn, Maggie Kennedy, Tara Dawley and Daniella Genovese had nice hits. For Rich’s, Abbey Doski pitched well while Dianna Carozza and Katie Butera collected nice hits.

Keno Graphics 18, Dr Curtis Beck 13 – Marian Blawie had a two hit day to help Keno Graphics capture the U10 softball championship. KellyAnn McCarthy rocketed a clutch double to ignite a five-run inning for the Green Machine while Erin Begg blasted a bases loaded triple. Maggie Kennedy doubled while Tara Dawley had another two hit day. For Dr Beck, Emma Herring pitched well and hit a pair of doubles as Christina Caporale and Katie Fossum each had two hits.

Red 13, Blue 13 – Jessica Gibbons and Kendall Svanda banged out doubles for the Red team in the U10 All Star game. Emma Herring and Ashley Cirone pitched well. For the Blue, Erin Begg pulled off an unassisted double play while Abby Doski pitched well. Amanda Rowan doubled while Lydia Post and Megan Duero collected two hits apiece.

Student Division

Ferris Mulch versus Newtown Junior Women – Carley Ferris, Emily Campbell, Hannah Bartlett and Megan Schumacher played well for Ferris while Kyle D’Andrea, Molly Begg, Shaina Stamp and Caitlyn Linden power the Junior Women.
