Arrest Warrant
After learning that police held a warrant for her arrest, Karyn Anderson, 22, of 24 Sleepy Hollow Road turned herself over to them on the evening of November 15, and was charged with three counts of second-degree failure to appear in court, police said. Those charges stem from a November 2006 incident in which she was charged with driving with a suspended license, driving with a suspended vehicle registration, and with a headlamp violation, police said.
After processing, police released Anderson on $2,500 bail for a November 29 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
DUI Arrest
Police report they stopped motorist Steven Petrella, 49, of 20 Housatonic Drive on the night of November 13 near 75 Glen Road because the vehicle that Petrella was driving was not staying to the right side of the road.
After investigating, police charged Petrella with driving under the influence, risk of injury to a minor, and failure to drive to the right.
The risk of injury charge was lodged because a minor was inside the vehicle that Petrella was driving, police said.
After he posted $260 bail, Petrella was released from custody for a November 27 court appearance.
Marijuana
After receiving a complaint on the afternoon of November 14, police responded to Dickinson Park on Elm Drive to investigate, after which they charged a 16-year-old boy and 17-year-old boy each with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana and with second-degree criminal trespassing.
Police released each of the two youths on written promises to appear November 30 in Danbury Youthful Offender Court.
State law prohibits police from disclosing the identities of people under age 18 who are charged with crimes.
Nissan Vs Deer
About 5 pm November 13, motorist Rachel Andrews, 25, of 78 Great Quarter Road was driving a 1996 Nissan Altima eastward on Berkshire Road, near Paugussett Road, when a deer ran onto the road and collided with the auto, police said. Andrews was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
Church Hill/Queen
Police report a two-vehicle collision at the busy intersection of Church Hill Road and Queen Street about 5:13 pm November 13.
Motorist Sandra Mahlstedt, 49, of Trumbull was driving a 2000 Chrysler van westward on Church Hill Road, as motorist Veronica Hempstead, 67, of Fieldstone Drive was driving a 2005 Saturn station wagon eastward on Church Hill Road, police said.
The Chrysler then made a left turn onto Queen Street, passing through a red traffic signal, police said.
At that time, the Saturn was making a right turn onto Queen Street, police said.
The two vehicles collided. There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Mahlstedt for failure to obey a traffic control signal.
Mt Pleasant Crash
Police report a two-vehicle accident near 166 Mt Pleasant Road about 5:23 pm November 10.
The accident involved motorist Arthur Seeger, 68, of Woodbury, who was driving a 2008 Toyota Camry, and motorist Joyce Donnelly, 47, of 36 Tunnel Road, who was driving a 2003 Jeep Liberty SUV, police said.
There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Seeger for making an improper turn.
Dodgingtown Vandalism
Police reported this week that they are investigating a case of vandalism that occurred recently at 18 Flat Swamp Road in Dodgingtown.
In the case of third-degree criminal mischief, someone at some time between 6:15 pm on October 30 and 8 am on October 31, spray-painted vulgar words on a mailbox and stone wall there, police said.
Police ask anyone with information on the identity of the vandal to contact them at 426-5841.
Key Rock Road
Police said they were dispatched to a one-vehicle accident on Key Rock Road about 3 am November 21, where they found that motorist Mark Razee, 22, of Southbury, who was driving a Dodge pickup truck, had struck a fence along the roadâs northbound shoulder.
Police said they gave Razee field sobriety tests and then learned that he had allegedly been involved in another motor vehicle accident earlier that night at Hot Shots II, a bar at 130 Mt Pleasant Road. Police said Razee had left the scene of the accident at the bar.
Police arrested Razee on charges of driving under the influence, reckless driving, evading responsibility, and making a restricted turn.
Razee was held on $1,500 bail for a November 21 court appearance, according to police.
Multiple Charges
Police said they received a report about youths possibly drinking alcohol in a parking lot at 43 Main Street about 7:17 am November 20, so they went there to investigate.
Police said they found five youths in a vehicle there and then realized that they held arrest warrants bearing multiple charges against one of them. Police said they charged Carey Olsen, 20, of Wilton with ten offenses.
Police arrested Olsen on one count each of first-degree failure to appear in court, possession of alcohol by a minor, a driving lane violation, and driving under the influence. They also arrested him on two counts each of third-degree burglary, first-degree larceny, and second-degree failure to appear in court.
Police held Olsen on $95,000 bail for a court appearance later that day.
