Nathaniel Bartlett Faus, 25, of Newtown and previously of Fairfield and Bethel, died May 9 at Norwalk Hospital. He was born in Norwalk, January 9, 1983, a son of Todd Hunter Faus of Norwalk and Sarah (Hugens) Goodspeed of Newtown.

Nathaniel was an incredibly talented ballet dancer in his younger years. At age 11 he attended the prestigious School of American Ballet at Lincoln Center in New York City as well as Stamford City Ballet in Stamford. As he grew older, his creative talents turned to music. Nathaniel founded several rock bands in the Bethel area and was a prolific songwriter and lyricist.

He was the oldest of five children and was a wonderful big brother, as well as a warm and loving person who touched the lives of everyone around him.

In addition to his parents, Nathaniel is survived by his stepfather, Jonathan Goodspeed of Oakland, Calif.; his siblings, Nicholas W. Goodspeed of Bethel, Christian C. Goodspeed, Mary-Esty Goodspeed, and Gabriel R.H. Goodspeed, all of Newtown; his maternal grandparents, Peter and Mary Hugens of Newtown; his paternal grandfather, James R. Faus of Princeton, N.J.; and his step-grandparents, Robert and Joanne Goodspeed of Hampton, N.H. Nathaniel is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Earle Hugens of New York City, J. Bradley and Ginny Faus of Salisbury, David and Holly Faus of Falmouth, Mass., John Faus of Rocky Hill, N.J., Steven and Nancy Goodspeed of Westford, Mass., Peter and Kim Goodspeed of McKinney, Texas, Scott and Mary Ellen of Rye, N.H., and Vincent Paul Yacovelli of Newtown; and numerous cousins.

Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, May 15, from 5 to 8 pm in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Private cremation will follow.
