Newtown resident Donald J. Morrissey was recently promoted from vice president, chief financial officer to executive vice president, chief financial officer at Aquarion Water Company.
âDonâs broad range of expertise, including treasury and finance, business development, and strategy, has made him a vital asset to the success of Aquarionâs operations,â Aquarion President and CEO Charles V. Firlotte said in a release.
An experienced finance executive and certified public accountant, Mr Morrissey joined Aquarion in 1995. During his time with the company, he has served in a number of roles, including director of accounting, controller, and vice president of finance.
Mr Morrissey received his BS in accounting from the University of Connecticut and his MBA in finance/international business from New York Universityâs Stern School of Business.
He served as chairman of the Finance Committee of the National Association of Water Companies from 2003 to 2008, and was on its board of directors from 2007 to 2011.
Aquarion Water Company is the public water supply company for more than 590,000 people in 42 cities and towns throughout Connecticut, as well as serving customers in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
