DWI Charge
Police report that motorist Cynthia J. Glasson, 42, of Briarcliff, N.Y., struck a street sign at the intersection of South Main Street and Orchard Hill Road about 10:45 pm on August 13. Police said that in investigating the accident, they gave Ms Glasson field sobriety tests, which she failed.
Police charged her with driving while intoxicated and making a restricted turn.
Police said they additionally charged Ms Glasson with risk of injury to a minor because Ms Glassonâs daughter was a passenger in the vehicle when the accident occurred.
After processing, police released Glasson for an August 29 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Drug Charges
Police lodged drug charges against two men following an incident late on the night of August 13 at the state boat launch on Hanover Road.
Police said they charged Andrew Foote, 23, of 175 Hanover Road with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and interfering with police.
Police charged Scott Sigmund, 23, of Bethel with possession of marijuana.
The men are scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charges.
High Rock Road
Motorist Robert Laneuville, 37, of 39 Swamp Road was driving a 1998 Ford Escort southbound near 79 High Rock Road about 2:50 am August 12 when he fell asleep, drifted onto the northbound road shoulder, climbed an embankment and rolled over, police said. Laneuville received cuts in the crash, police said.
Laneuville had climbed out of the vehicle by the time police arrived, police said.
Police verbally warned him for failure to drive to the right.
Route 34 Collision
Two automobiles collided head-on near 42 Berkshire Road about 10:30 pm on August 11, police report.
Police said motorist Matt Ricci, 28, of Bethel, was driving a 1988 Volkswagen Jetta westbound on Berkshire Road, while motorist George F. Zenhye, III, 20, of 33 Jeremiah Road was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Monte Carlo eastbound there.
The Volkswagen crossed the roadâs center line and collided head-on with the Chevrolet, police said.
 Zenhye said he was unable to avoid the collision, police said. The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Ricci to Danbury Hospital to be treated for injuries. The crash is under investigation.
DWI Incident
Police said they saw motorist Daniel M. Thebodo, 35, of 35 Appleblossom Lane driving northbound on Main Street at 45 miles per hour in a 30-mph zone about 8:30 pm on August 12. Police said the vehicle continued traveling northbound, entering Mt Pleasant Road and moving erratically.
Police stopped the vehicle and gave Thebodo field sobriety tests, which he failed.
Police charged Thebodo with driving while intoxicated, traveling too fast, and failure to drive to the right on a curve. After processing, police released Thebodo on bond for an August 29 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Mile Hill Incident
Police said motorist Brandon M. Jossick, 19, of 40 Turkey Hill Terrace was driving a 1992 Hyundai Excel westbound on Mile Hill Road near the Pootatuck River about 9:30 pm on August 10 when a westbound Buick sped past the Hyundai in a no-passing zone, cut in front of the Hyundai, and slammed on the brakes, resulting in the Hyundai striking the Buick from behind, police said.
The Buick then left the scene, police said. Police said they are investigating the identity of the Buickâs driver in the case of evading responsibility. There were no reported injuries in the collision.
DWI Charge
Police report that on August 11 they charged Andrew C. Beckwith, 31, of 86 Berkshire Road with driving while intoxicated and following too closely. Police said Beckwith is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charges.
Supermarket Incident
Police report that following an incident on the afternoon of August 11 at Big Y Supermarket at Newtown Shopping Village on Queen Street, they charged Tracy J. Cable, 42, of 41 Cherry Street, Sandy Hook, with risk of injury to a minor and breach of peace. Police said the incident involved Ms Cable and her two children. Police released Cable on bond for an August 14 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Dog Charges
Police said they charged Stephen Hoder, 55, of 12 Spring Trail, Sandy Hook, August 12 with two counts of harboring dogs such as to create a nuisance and one count of possession of unlicensed dogs.
The charges stem from complaints concerning aggressive roaming dogs in the Lakeview Terrace and Spring Trail areas, police said. Police released Hoder on $200 bond for an August 24 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Weapon Charge
State police report they stopped motorist Elizabeth R. Greco, 30, of Brookfield for speeding on eastbound Interstate 84, east of Exit 11, about 9 pm on August 9.
State police said that on investigating they charged Greco with speeding, possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
State police found Greco to be in possession of a loaded 9-mm pistol and three small bags of marijuana, as well as drug paraphernalia.
Greco was released on a $5,000 for an August 21 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Ramp Accident
State police said motorist Emily Birch, 36, of 5 Homer Clark Lane, Sandy Hook, was driving a 1987 Mazda RX-7 on the eastbound Interstate 84 Exit 10 on-ramp about 3 pm on August 13 when the auto hit guard railing and went down an embankment off the right road shoulder.
Birch was not injured, state police said. State police said Birch was traveling too fast for conditions.

Lightpost
State police said motorist Karen E. Whitaker, 28, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was driving a 1994 Saturn coupe on the Interstate 84 Exit 11 off-ramp on August 12 when the auto began to slide on the wet roadway and struck a lightpost.
No injuries were reported. State police said Whitaker was traveling too fast for conditions.

Auto Vs Camper
State police report an accident between an automobile and a camper about noon on August 10 on eastbound Interstate 84.
State police said motorist Wilburn Young, 62, of Georgia, was driving a camper in the left lane, while motorist Mary Maye, 77, of 3 Long View Road, Sandy Hook, was driving a 1997 Nissan Maxima in the right lane. As traffic was merging, the two vehicles came into contact, state police said.
There were no injuries, according to state police.

Tractor-Trailer
State police said motorist Jill R. Ripper, 31, of Manchester was driving a 1997 Ford Aspire in the left lane of eastbound Interstate 84 between the Philo Curtis Road and Bancroft Road overpasses about noon on August 10 when an unknown vehicle cut in front of the Ford, causing the Ford to spin out of control.
A tractor-trailer truck driven by Melvin Brown, 37, of Harwood, Md., then struck the Ford, state police said.     Â
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Ripper to Danbury Hospital for the treatment of minor head cuts.

Ramp Collision
State police report that motorist Patrick Shevlin, 18, of 11 Arlyn Ridge Road, who was driving a 1993 Jeep, struck some guardrails on the eastbound Interstate 84 Exit 10 on-ramp about 7:30 am on August 9.

Three-Car Crash
A three-car accident took place about 8:40 am on August 9 on westbound Interstate 84 about 500 feet east of Exit 9 in Hawleyville, according to state police.
Motorist Peter R. Serhiak, 51, of Southbury, who was driving a 1995 Ford Taurus, slowed for heavy traffic and was struck from behind by motorist Steven C. Nocera, 18, of Waterbury, who was driving a 1995 Hyundai Elantra. The Hyundai had been struck from behind by a 1987 Toyota Camry, which was driven by Mark Landy, 30, of Woodbury, state police said.
There were no injuries. State police issued Nocera and Landy written warnings for following too closely.

I-84 MVA
State police report an accident between a tractor-trailer truck and an automobile about 9:30 am August 7 on westbound Interstate 84, near Exit 11.
Motorist Eric J. Idec, 57, of Meriden, who was driving a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix sedan, slowed for heavy traffic. His vehicle was struck from behind by the tractor-trailer truck driven by Francis Drake, 28, of Ladosia, N.Y., state police said.
There were no injuries. State police issued Drake an infraction ticket on a charge of following too closely.

Rock Incident
 State police report an accident in which a rock fell off a truck and smashed a windshield on a sport-utility vehicle on westbound Interstate 84 near Exit 11 about 9:50 am August 7.
State police said the rock fell off a truck driven by Robert Campbell, 56, then struck and shattered the windshield of a 1993 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Lynda R. Pascone, 28, of Seymour. The Nissan was traveling behind the truck, state police said.
There were no injuries.
