Buick Championship
The Greater Hartford Jaycees announced today that local favorites Jerry Kelly, Tim Petrovic and JJ Henry have committed to the 2004 Buick Championship at the TPC at River Highlands in Cromwell.
Kelly, a University of Hartford graduate, has two PGA Tour wins and was a member of the 2003 Presidents Cup team. Petrovic is another University of Hartford product who grew up in South Glastonbury. And Henry, a Fairfield native, is one of the rising young stars on the PGA Tour, entering his fourth full season.
âItâs great to see two guys who grew up in Connecticut being successful on the PGA Tour,â said tournament director Dan Baker. âYou donât see too many guys who grew up in the Northeast out there on tour because itâs a big disadvantage as a junior golfer to only have a six month season. Tim and JJ have continued to prosper and grow on the PGA Tour and we know they will achieve even greater success in the future.â
