Edward C. Wadleigh
Edward C. Wadleigh, 75, of 38 Hobart Street, Waterbury, died September 13. He was the husband of Barbara (Conover) Wadleigh.
Mr Wadleigh was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., October 24, 1924, son of the late Marion E. and Leona (Fisher) Wadleigh. He raised his family in Newtown and had recently been a resident of Waterbury. He spent the majority of his career working for Uniroyal at its Fabric Firehose plant in Sandy Hook. He was a member of the Dodgingtown Volunteer Fire Department, and an assistant leader for the Dodgingtown Fire Department Boy Scout troop.
Besides his wife, Barbara, of 49 years, he leaves four daughters: Marion Witowski of Southington, Deborah Lyall of Naugatuck, Susan Smith and Patricia Roka, both of Waterbury; a sister, Betty Ann White of Chestertown, N.Y.; and ten grandchildren ranging in age from 1 year to 24 years to carry on his memory. They are: Shanon and Sarah Grondal; Meriah, Tanya, Tyler, and Devon Smith; Shawn and Patrick Roka; and William and Morgan Lyall.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 16, at 2 pm at Bunker Hill Congregational Church.
Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the William M. Wadleigh Scholarship Fund, University of Connecticut Health Center, Grants Office MC-5335, 232 Farmington Avenue, Farmington, CT 06030.
 The fund was set up in memory of William McKenzie Wadleigh, only son of Edward and Barbara, who passed away in 1992, to benefit students affiliated with the University of Connecticutâs Health Center.
