The Resiliency Center of Newtown (RCN) announces a few upcoming events, all open to the public and all free of charge.

On Friday, February 6, the next monthly Guided Healing Mediation program with Carla Barzetti. The 60-minute program will begin at 9:30 am.

Ms Barzetti is a mother of two children currently residing in Newtown. She has been doing intuitive energy healing work since 2001. Last summer she completed a free online guided healing meditation video series called All Calm Down with the help of The Jesse Lewis Choose Love Foundation.

Her passion for helping people on a deep spiritual level led her to The Resiliency Center, where she continues to offer free monthly guided healing meditations. All of the meditations will have a general theme which will change each month, but they will all have a clear healing, centering, grounding aspect to them.

Reservations program are not necessary

On Tuesday, February 10, from 10 to 11 am, the center will host a discussion by Dr Tarique Perera concerning a cutting-edge breakthrough in psychiatry: Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).

TMS uses precisely targeted magnetic pulses that stimulate key areas of the brain associated with trauma, depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, bipolar disorder and more. TMS has been shown effective in treatment resistant patients as well as those unable to tolerate the side effects of medication.

Dr Perera is a board psychiatrist with offices in Greenwich, Danbury and New York City, part of The Contemporary Center.

Light refreshments will be served.

Then on Tuesday, February 17, from 10:30 am until 1 pm, RCN will host an ongoing painting party. The center is partnering with Ben’s Bells Newtown to paint doTERRA Oils necklace diffusers. Kids of all ages are welcome to paint the diffusers and enjoy some pizza.

Reservations are requested so that an appropriate amount of food can be arranged for.

The Resiliency Center of Newtown is at 153 South Main Street. RCN is a program of Tuesday's Children a 501(c)(3) non-profit family service organization that made a similar long-term commitment to meet the needs of individuals directly impacted by 9/11.
