After a summer filled with art, cooking, nature, and merriment, the Housatonic Valley Waldorf School (HVWS) had its annual Harvest Feast to wrap up the last week of camp on Friday, August 11.

For students 3 to 7 years old, the seventh and final week of camp was called Hoes, Hands, and Harvest. The program let the children be hands-on in creating a variety of healthy meals and snacks, while also learning many cooking techniques along the way.

The older group of students, ages 8 to 14 years old, were part of the All About Art! Painters and Painting camp that used edible paint to make their own canvas masterpieces. Some chose to paint still life, animals, and colorful abstract designs.

Friends and family were invited to join the campers on their last day for a grand feast that included lunch, beverages, and dessert.

During the end of camp celebration, guests were also welcome to view the many art creations on display.

Camp Director Carrie Reilly organized the event and worked diligently with the campers bringing out the mouthwatering dishes like stone soup, kale chips, chocolate truffles, zucchini bread, garden salad, and millet pizza.

She thanked Shortts Farm and Riverbank Farm for helping contribute items toward the feast for all to enjoy.
