George William Hartlett

Loved Family And Music

George William Hartlett, 78, of Milford, died July 27, at Milford Hospital. He was born December 28, 1932, the son of Pauline Ritch and Theodore R. Hartlett, and grew up in Stamford.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Paula Smolinski Hartlett; four children, including Ted Hartlett, and his wife Ibel, of Newtown; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two siblings. A brother and a sister predeceased Mr Hartlett.

He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Navy aboard the USS Pittsburgh. He worked as a subcontractor for Stamford Installation and Mr Shower Door.

As a young child he always loved music and as an adult he become an accomplished musician playing accordion and piano. He also performed with the Nashville Express on keyboard.

There will be a memorial service Saturday, July 30, at 11 am, at the Ponus Yacht Club, 41 Bateman Way, Stamford.
