Fireworks Incident

Police report they charged three youths in connection with a fireworks incident April 6 at Newtown High School.

Police said they charged Quentin Ham, 16, of 5 Birch Rise Drive with third degree arson, possession of explosives, and disorderly conduct. Police charged an unidentified boy under age 16 and Justin St Louis-Keane, 16, of 58 Walnut Tree Hill Road each with possession of explosives and disorderly conduct.

At about 12:45 pm, a small firework, known as a Red Devil M-1000, was set off in an empty school rest room, causing minor damage, police said. That firework is classified as an “explosive,” police said.

Ham and St Louis-Keane are scheduled for April 22 appearances in Danbury Superior Court. The unidentified juvenile is scheduled to appear in Danbury Juvenile Court on April 19.

Hawleyville Deer

While traveling southward on Hawleyville Road at about 8 pm April 4, motorist Rachel Bogner, 21, of Brookfield, who was driving a 1996 Honda Accord, collided with a deer, police said. Bogner was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
