An Inspiring Story

To the Editor:

Nancy Crevier’s article (“Young Lives at Opposite Ends of the Autism Spectrum”) is one of the most moving I have read on the subject.

The two mothers interviewed in the article show just how in-tune with your child you must be to raise these special individuals.

Our son was diagnosed with Asperger’s at the age of 22. Although we know he will always have certain issues, he has risen above his disability to become a successful video game artist for one of the major game companies.

My husband likes to tell our son he is the next stage in evolution. The worry does not end, but neither does the awe he inspires in us.
