A tag sale and holiday bazaar, sponsored by the Newtown High School Animal Concerns Club, the NHS CANTER Club and the NHS Ecology Club, will be held in the schoolâs cafeteria this Saturday, December 12, from 9 am to 3 pm.
The Animal Concerns Club will be hosting a multifamily tag sale, bake sale, and craft sale, with all profits going to help local animal organizations and issues. The Animal Center will be joining the Animal Concerns Club with a few cats for adoption in the morning, and representatives from the WildlifeEducationCoalition.orgâs Deer Campaign will also be present.Â
Ten percent off coupons, while supplies last, for purchases at Your Healthy Pet, located at 224 South Main Street in Newtown, will be provided at the event. Â
The NHS CANTER (Charitable Acts in Newtown Toward Equine Rescue) Club will be selling gloves, baked goods, and homemade holiday cards featuring rescued horses from HORSE (Humane Organization Representing Suffering Equines) of Connecticut. All money raised during the bazaar portion of the event will go toward HORSE of Connecticut.Â
The NHS Ecology Club will be selling items to raise money to help save the polar bear populations and will be presenting awareness issues on the importance of recycling and other environmental concerns. Environmentally friendly, handmade wrapping bags and accessories will also be sold by the Ecology Club.
Wiped Out Boyz, a Newtown band, will also be performing at the event between noon and 1 pm in the cafeteria.
