To Mr Walczak:

Mr Walczak, your pitch (“Representing the School District on the Council,” Letter Hive, 9/29/11) for the “education vote” in District #2 leaves me cold and certainly of the mind that I could never support you. I am all for quality education. But I need to know that my council representatives will serve all their constituents and have not predetermined their stance on issues. The 9,000 persons in District #2 deserve leaders who are open-minded to the many different points of view that make up our community. The council representatives I support, and who are best for District #2 and for the whole community, are those who ask the tough questions and have the courage to make the hard decisions. In my mind, council members must represent voters, all of them. Clearly you have already decided who and what you represent.

Beware, folks, of this politician! Narrow-mindedness construed through a myopic lens is not in the best interests of our community. This is not about support for quality education. This is about getting the best representation on the council — representation that values all constituents, not just some. Bruce Walczak does not have my vote. No! Never!
