Pecora To Paint For SCAN, October 23
The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will have Susan Tilton Pecora painting a watercolor landscape at its next meeting, on Wednesday, October 23, at 1:30 pm.
The program will take place at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street (at the flagpole). The public is invited to attend. Admission is free.
Susan Tilton Pecora was raised in Marblehead, Mass. She spent her summers cruising the coastline with her family, and has been painting the streets of New England, exhibiting and selling her work through galleries and art associations for the past thirty years. Her paintings have been included in American Artist Magazine, the books Splash 7 and The Best in Watercolor (both Northlight Books), and 13 of her painting were used to create a calendar for Farm Aid.
Ms Pecora is a signature member of New England Watercolor Society in Boston; Academic Artists Association, Springfield; Copley Society, Boston; Cape Cod Art Association, Barnstable; and Provincetown Art Association. She has exhibited and won awards from a variety of national organizations including American Artists’ Professional League, New York City; New England Watercolor Society; The Copley Society Invitational; The Rocky Mountain National Watercolor Exhibit, Colorado; and Hudson Valley Art Association.
She has received numerous cultural council grants to create plein air paintings of New England libraries. The paintings are then donated back to the library for fundraising.
Ms Pecora currently teaches painting at the Museum of Fine Arts in Springfield as well as in her studio in western Massachusetts.
