Middle Gate's Snowflake Festival

Middle Gate Elementary School’s PTA’s 2nd Annual Snowflake Festival was underway with people milling between vendors, shopping for used ornaments, and children participating in crafts and events in the school’s cafeteria by noon on Saturday, December 6.

The event ran from 10 am to 3 pm and included vendors, crafters, raffles, treats, baked goods, and the used ornament sale. Guest vendors for the event included A Bead of Roses, Newtown MediSpa, and Ben’s Bells Newtown.

Event Chair Michelle Garrity greeted people near the entrance as they arrived. According to Ms Garrity, who said she was thankful for all the participants in the festival, more than 35 vendors participated in this year’s Snowflake Festival.

Children’s activities during the event included crafts and activities run by Baum Orthodontics, CrossFit Hook’d, EverWonder Children’s Museum, and Kidologie, which was promoting its upcoming March 15 Kidologie Gets Ready for Summer event at Reed Intermediate School. Ms Garrity also said she was grateful to Dunkin’ Donuts of Newtown for supplies of coffee, milk, creamer, and cups for the event, and for all of the businesses that donated to the event’s raffles.

According to a brochure for the event, A Bead of Roses, Baum Orthodontics, Ben’s Bells, the Bridgeport Bluefish, the Connecticut Sports Center, CrossFit Hook’d, the Dodgingtown Market, Dunkin’ Donuts of Newtown, Edible Arrangements, Extreme Martial Arts Fitness, EverWonder Museum, Gaetano’s Italian Market, It’s in the Bag, Jones Family Tree Farm, Kidologie, Mr Mac’s Canteen, Marisa’s Ristorante, Middle Gate families, My Place, Newtown MediSpa, Nina’s Nail Salon, Queen Street Gifts, Salon Michele, Saint Rose’s seventh and eighth grade confirmation candidates, Sal e Pepe Ristorante, Stew Leonard’s, Tambascio’s Restaurant, and Toy Tree contributed to the event.

Used ornaments were on sale in Middle Gate Elementary School’s art room during the 2nd Annual Snowflake Festival.
