Mother And Grandmother

Shirley E. Johr, 75, of Newtown, died June 9 in Danbury Hospital. Mrs Johr was the wife of the late Fred H. Johr. She was born in Butler, N.J.. on August 29, 1932, a daughter of Floyd and Pearl (Coller) Ricker.

She had been a resident of Newtown since 1966 and was a member of the Newtown Congregational Church. Before her retirement, Mrs Johr was employed as a bookkeeper for Fritchman Associates of Ridgefield.            

Mrs Johr is survived by a daughter, Candace Truchsess and her husband, John, of Newtown; and a son, Fred H. Johr, Jr, and his wife, Elaine, of Bethel. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kyle Johr, Stephanie Johr, Jennifer Truchsess, Taylor Truchsess, and Ryan Truchsess; and by her step-grandchildren, Paul Gibbs, Mike Gibbs and his wife, Tracy, and their son, Dylan, Brenda Fraiter, Janine Ward, and Justin Truchsess.

Funeral Services were scheduled for Thursday, June 12, at 8 pm, in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Interment in Newtown Village Cemetery will be private. Calling hours were scheduled at the funeral home from 6 to 8 pm.
