Bar Argument Develops
Into Road Rage Incident
Following an argument between two men at a local bar, police investigated a road rage incident that resulted in serious motor vehicle charges against a man who allegedly ran another male motorist off the road on Hawleyville Road about 1 am June 18.
Police said that Arben Hasimi, 20, of Waterbury was involved in a verbal argument with another man at Hot Shots Grille, Restaurant, and Tap Room at 130 Mt Pleasant Road.
Hasimi was then asked to leave the premises, after which he went outdoors, police said.
Hasimi then apparently waited for the unidentified man with whom he had had the argument to leave the bar, according to police. Â
As the male victim then drove northward on Hawleyville Road, Hasimi allegedly tailgated the victimâs auto, police report. Hasimi then allegedly drove along the left side of the victimâs vehicle, causing the victimâs vehicle to drive off the road at travel speed, according to police. The victim was not injured in the incident, police said.
Police said they received a call reporting the incident, after which they found Hasimi, stopped him and investigated.
Hasimi was charged with reckless driving and with tailgating with the intent to harass or intimidate. Police released Hasimi on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on July 2.
