Young football fans will have the opportunity to show off their football skills when NYA Sports & Fitness Center hosts an NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition on Saturday, August 1, at noon.

The competition is free and open to all boys and girls ages 6-15. Boys and girls compete separately, and participants are broken down by age, as follows: ages 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, and 14-15.

Each participant is allowed one punt, one pass, and one placekick as part of their competition. Scores are based on both distance and accuracy. Scores are determined from where a punt/pass/kick first makes contact with the ground; bounces or rolls do not add to the score.

A participant’s final score will be their cumulative total for the three individual events.

Top finishers will have an opportunity to advance to the Regional Finals and ultimately could qualify for the National Finals.

Age classification is as of December 31 of the current year.

Participants must provide a copy of their birth certificate and have a parent and/or guardian complete a registration waiver form prior to the start of the competition. Participants will be asked to show proof of age at all levels of competition. Failure to do so will result in the child or young adult being ineligible to compete.

Participants are encouraged to register in advance by visiting nflppk.com.

According to NFL rules, no football shoes, cleats, turf shoes, or bare feet are allowed. Only soft-soled gym shoes are permitted.

All equipment will be provided. Other than shoes, participants may not use their own equipment (such as tees or footballs).

Participants are encouraged to bring their own water bottles.

For additional information call NYA at 203-426-0088 or visit nflppk.com.
