Letter of Endorsement
To the Editor:
Newtown is not unique in facing a number of issues that can have long term implications on its residents. We feel the tax burden, we know student enrollment is on the decline, industry is struggling to remain here, work is needed on our roads – the list seemingly goes on and on. Newtown needs a representative with experience; someone who will tackle these issues and approach them with due-diligence; a person who can effectively communicate even when dealing with sensitive issues; someone who has shown true leadership by listening and considering all perspectives. We need to re-elect Mary Ann Jacob as our District 2 Legislative Council member.
Mary Ann has a proven track record over her six years serving on the Legislative Council. Her dedication to the town and all who live here is above reproach. I have worked with Mary Ann over the last year on several community related issues and have gotten to know her personally as well. It’s very rare that you meet someone in politics who is genuine, true to their word, who can respect differing opinions and still manage to work with others to get things done. For these reasons, I support Mary Ann Jacob for District 2 Legislative Council and I urge Newtown residents to vote for her in November.
