Winterset Ski Cub of Newtown is inviting everyone to get ready for the ski season with a free screening of Warren Miller’s 2014 movie No Turning Back, on Wednesday, November 4, at 6:45 pm.

The movie will be at Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street in Newtown.

Members will be on hand before the show to share information about the club.

Winterset Ski Club of Newtown, which has been around for 45 years, is part of the Connecticut Ski Council (CSC). 

The club offers many benefits to its members, and promotes skiing and snowboarding at discount rates. Members can take advantage of discounted lift tickets through either the CSC’s Bulk Buy Discounted Lift Ticket Program or through their CSC Awareness Days Program. 

Benefits include Bulk Buy Lift Tickets, multiple “Day Bus Trips” to Vermont and New Hampshire and week-long trips out west as well as abroad.  This year’s trip will be to Steamboat Springs, and a few spots are still available.  Winterset has also been running a week-long trip to Sugarloaf for many years.

Additionally, the club promotes Monday Night Racing locally during the season and also compete at its “On Snow Carnival" event. Many planned events are held throughout the year, including off season.
