Newtown Schools Announce Winter Concerts Schedule

The school district has released the 2014-15 Winter Performance Schedule for concerts and events for each of the public schools.

According to Director of Music and Newtown High School’s Fine Arts Department Chair Michelle Hiscavich, the concerts are free and members of the public are welcome to attend.

Hawley Elementary School’s third and fourth grade chorus is slated to hold its concert on December 3 at Reed Intermediate School at 7 pm; snow date December 4.

Sandy Hook School’s fourth grade chorus will host its concert at Newtown High School on December 4 at 7 pm; snow date January 7.

NHS’s orchestra concert is set for December 8 at 7 pm at NHS; snow date December 11.

NHS’s band concert is set for December 9 at 7 pm at NHS; snow date December 18.

NHS’s chorus concert is set for December 10 at 7 pm at NHS; snow date December 22.

Newtown Middle School’s eighth grade concert is set for December 15 at 7 pm at NHS; snow date January 5.

NMS’s seventh grade concert is set for December 17 at 7 pm at NHS; snow date January 12.

Head O’ Meadow’s fourth grade chorus concert is set for January 7 at 7 pm at Head O’ Meadow; snow date January 14.

Middle Gate Elementary School’s fourth grade chorus concert is set for January 14 at 7 pm at NHS; snow date January 21.

Reed Intermediate School’s sixth grade orchestra concert is set for January 26 at Reed at 7 pm; snow date is February 9.

Reed’s fifth grade orchestra and fifth and sixth grade chorus concert is set for January 28 at 7 pm; snow date February 10.

Reed’s fifth grade band concert is set for February 2 at 7 pm at Reed; snow date February 12.

Reed’s sixth grade band concert is set for February 4 at 7 pm at Reed; snow date February 19.

A Reed recital, which will feature special music groups from the school, is set for March 16 at 7 pm at Reed; snow date March 18.
