Newtown Parks & Recreation is issuing a reminder that the pool at Newtown High School will not be open for open swim Wednesday through Saturday, November 25-28, due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Residents with parks/pool passes are usually granted access to the NHS pool five days each week. Open Swim is offered Mondays from 7:15 to 9:15 pm and Saturdays from 1 to 5 pm. Open Lap Swim is offered Tuesdays, 6-6:30 pm; Wednesdays, 7:15-9:15 pm; and Thursdays, 6-6:30 am.

Open swims are cancelled, however, during school vacations, as well as holidays and bad weather. Open swim is also not available when the NHS team has swim meets.
