All town offices will be closed on Thursday, November 26, and Friday, November 27, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

The transfer station at 4 Ethan Allen Road will be closed both days; it will reopen on Saturday on its regular schedule (7 am to 3 pm).

Newtown Senior Center and Cyrenius H. Booth Library will be closed on Thursday and Friday. The senior center will reopen on Monday at 8 am, and the town library will reopen on Saturday at 9:30 am.

(Library patrons should also note, the library will be closing at 4 pm on Wednesday, November 25/Thanksgiving Eve.)

Schools also will be closed Thursday and Friday. Public schools will have early dismissal on Wednesday, November 25.

The United States Postal Service will not be making deliveries on Thursday.

The offices of The Bee will be closed on Thanksgiving . They will reopen at 8 am Friday.

Please note that deadlines for the Friday, November 27, issue of The Newtown Bee will be 24 hours earlier than normal due to the holiday. The paper will be published and mailed Wednesday afternoon.
