To the Editor:

On behalf of Newtown Social Services and the Salvation Army Food Pantry, we would like to thank the various groups who have conducted food drives for us in recent days; “Stuff a Bus”/Stop ‘n Shop, Taunton Press, St. Rose, Newtown High School, and Women Involved in Newtown.

A special thank you to brother and sister, Nate and Jill Hoag, who raised $100 for our food pantry at their lemonade stand.  Great job!

Thanks to the generosity of the residents of Newtown, our food pantry is now well stocked and we will be able to serve our clients in need with a well-balanced assortment of food.

Once again our heartfelt thanks to all who participated.
