Middle Gate Elementary School held its annual holiday movie night on Friday, December 11, featuring a shopping “boutique” just before the movie began.

Middle Gate PTA President Debbie DeBlasi said roughly 200 people had signed up for the evening event, and more walk-ins were expected.

The shopping boutique was set up in the school’s cafeteria, with items for students to purchase dispersed around the room. Items ranged from 25 cents to $5, and Ms DeBlasi said most of the items were under $2. PTA volunteers were on hand to help the student shoppers and a craft table was set up. A station for wrapping presents was also available, and a “winter wonderland”backdrop was set up for families to take photos.

Inside the school’s gymnasium students and family members were eating pizza and other food while wearing festive pajamas. Blankets, pillows, and sleeping bags marked claimed spots on the floor.

The Polar Express was shown for this year’s holiday movie night. Cookies, milk, and popcorn were also available for purchase during the movie.
