Newtown Bible Church is a Bible-centered New Testament church that focuses on exalting God through the clear exposition of His inspired word (2 Tim. 3:16). Members strive to go beyond understanding it intellectually, to also have a heart for God and live changed lives as a result (Eph. 4:11–13). Each Wednesday in Lent there will be a service of Taizé at 7:30. This style of worship consists of simple chants sung repeatedly, rich silence, glowing candlelight, and prayers of intercession. All are encouraged to participate as the spirit moves them, whether that be in song, prayer, or quiet meditation. The service is preceded by a Lenten teaching from 6 to 7:15 pm in the Undercroft, titled “Straight Talk About Simple, Just Living.”
