Liz Wilson
Former Bee Arts Editor
The Bee learned this week of the death of Liz Wilson, who served as the newspaperâs arts editor for several years in the late 1980s and early 90s. In that time, she lived in Newtown and in Waterbury, and was active in the areaâs arts scene.
After leaving The Bee, she continued her work in the arts both as a professional and a volunteer for exhibitions and art galleries in the area. In recent years she had been living in Gainsville, Fla., near one of her sons and grandchildren. She worked as a volunteer for the Gainsville Catholic Worker shelter for the homeless, and had been active in the Gainsville writers alliance.
The Facebook page of the Gainsville Catholic Worker reported this week that a funeral for Liz Wilson had been scheduled for Saturday, May 28, at 9 am in the Holy Faith Catholic Church in Gainsville.
