Arias On East Main: Opera’s Greatest Hits To Soar On Palace Stage

WATERBURY — Just in time for the winter weather, the fiery passion of opera’s most beloved works and power-house performances will warm hearts and stir souls, when “Opera at the Palace” takes the Palace Theater stage on Saturday, January 12, at 8 pm.

Opera aficionados and newcomers alike are invited to join Maestro Willie Anthony Waters of Connecticut Opera as he conducts Waterbury Symphony Orchestra in an evening of operatic arias and ensemble favorites sung by the stars of Connecticut Opera. Featuring a potpourri of the genre’s most familiar and treasured songs, this intimate performance promises to be an enjoyable evening out for both the first time patron and the opera enthusiast.

Scheduled to perform a diverse program, featuring the music of Giuseppe Verdi, Gioachino Rossini, Mozart and beyond, are artists who have thrilled and delighted Connecticut audiences, including soprano Lisa Daltirus, whose outstanding vocal artistry recently wowed audiences during her performance as Tosca in Connecticut Opera’s presentation of the Giacomo Puccini classic of the same name.

Also set to take the stage are Raúl Melo, Mark Rucker, Andrew Gangestad and others, in an exciting ensemble of world class artists.
