Alfred E. Gramlich
Alfred E. Gramlich, 79, of Hendersonville, N.C., died July 19.
He was the father of Douglas A. Gramlick of Newtown.
A native of Woodridge, N.J., he had lived in Henderson County since 1984 and was a former resident of River Vale, N.J., and New Fairfield. He was the husband of the late G. Louise âMintyâ Gramlich, who died in 1986, and was also preceded in death by a son, Stanley R. Gramlich, in 1990. He graduated from Woodridge High School in 1941, attended Penn State University and graduated from Seton Hall University in 1951. He also attended Western Connecticut State University and received his masterâs degree in business administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey in 1971.
Mr Gramlich was a salesman with 3-M Corporation from 1953 to 1969 and also with the Mihalick Corporation from 1969 until his retirement in 1983. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II, was a member of the WNC Air Museum, and was a regular contributor to the museumâs newsletter. He attended numerous car shows, showing off his 1957 T-Bird, winning many awards.
Survivors also include a brother, William Gramlich and his wife, Lorraine, of Woodridge, N.J.; a sister, Rae Schroeder of Greensboro, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in Hendersonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the WNC Air Museum, 1340 Gilbert Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
