NMS 'Fiddler On The Roof, Jr' Rehearsals Continue

Newtown Middle School students in this year's musical production of Fiddler on the Roof, Jr continued rehearsing on Friday, March 18.newtown.nms.schooldesk.net.Fiddler on the Roof Jr centers on the story of Tevye, a father of five daughters of marriageable age, and his attempts to maintain his Jewish religious and cultural traditions as outside influences encroach upon the family's lives.

Students sang, danced, and practiced scenes, two weeks before the production is set to open for the public at the school, 11 Queen Street.

The musical is scheduled for show times Friday and Saturday, April 1-2, at 7 pm; and Saturday and Sunday, April 2-3, at 2 pm.

Tickets are $10 for adults and children. Tickets are available for purchase online off of the school's website,

A free presentation for local seniors is scheduled for Thursday, March 31, which will start 2:45 pm. Complimentary tea, coffee, finger foods, and dessert will be provided in the school's cafeteria before the special showing of the production. Local seniors thinking of attending the event are asked to make a reservation by calling Terri Greenfield at 203-426-7642.
