Two Thefts From Vehicles At Fairfield Hills
At about 3:30 pm on Wednesday, March 23, someone forcibly entered two locked vehicles that were parked along DG Beers Boulevard near Newtown Municipal Center at Fairfield Hills and stole a purse from each of the two vehicles, police report.
Police said the thief who stole the purses broke windows on each vehicle to gain entry, after having spotted the purses in plain sight within the vehicles. DG Beers Boulevard lies between the municipal center and Kent House.
Not including the window breakage, police estimated the loss value in each of the two thefts at $300. Each purse contained cash and credit cards, police said.
Police advise residents to remove any valuables from within vehicles when vehicles are unattended. Also, police urge motorists to set any vehicle alarms when vehicles are unattended.
Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to contact police Officer Timothy Schoen at the police station at 203-426-5841.
