To the Editor: gotta have it.We are going to borrow more money.""big dig" it will cost thousands upon thousands of dollars for ongoing maintenance, staffing,  etc.....but hey....it's far less than a measly 2.34 percent.... Forget the construction cost estimates...When have cost estimates for anything even been close to actuality in this town?

The state's coffers are nearly on life support; no doubt necessitating future reduced funds to cities and towns. The proposed town budget shows desires of a  2.34 percent increase, which at first glance seems ok....2.34 percent..... one  hundred fourteen million, nine hundred one thousand, seven hundred forty-five dollars  is a tad more descriptive. ($114,901,745) - and that is without an aquatic complex.

Instead of being humble and thankful to General Electric for its benevolence in offering a Community Center, we have shown our greedy selves...pool, ice rink, perhaps even NASCAR Track....

Proposed bonding and thousands of dollars have already been spent, two years in a row....this time with the pretty, smiling presentations and bonding proposals... "
