Grow Your Own Garlic

WOODBURY — Joshua Rapport, founder and principal farmer of Sacred Organics, a company specifically devoted to growing organic garlic, will offer his expertise on the fascinating history and folklore of garlic, including the medicinal properties of this ancient therapeutic and gourmet herb, during workshop at Flanders Nature Center.

Mr Rapport’s class will be Thursday, August 28, from 7 to 8:30 pm, at Van Vleckfarm Sanctuary Studio.

Home gardeners will learn organic growing techniques from the various stages of growth through harvesting and storage. Discussion will follow as well as a question and answer period. Organic garlic seeds will also be available; planting season is just around the corner (mid-October),
