Michael Joseph Brice, 48, of Monroe died April 25, at home. Born in Bridgeport, October 28, 1967, he was the son of Gloria Olszewski DiStassio of Monroe and the late Donald W. Brice.

Survivors in addition to his mother include his son, Michael Joseph Brice of Newtown; a sister Lori L. Alterio, and husband Leonard, of Monroe; brothers Donald W. Brice, and wife Donna, of Monroe, Patrick J. Brice of Bridgeport, Joseph N. Brice, and wife Kristin, of Fairfield, and Anthony A. DiStassio III of Westport; and two aunts.

He was a painter and carpet mechanic. He will be remembered for his love of animals, especially his pet cats; his gift and ability to release immediate forgiveness to others; and his infectious smile. Gatherings on special occasion with his family were especially important to Mr Brice. His family is grateful that his last few months of life were his happiest.

Visiting hours will take place Thursday, April 28 from 4 to 7:30 pm, in the Dennis & D'Arcy-Abriola & Kelemen Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home starting at 7:30 pm, following the visitation. Graveside services will be Friday April 29, at 11 am, in St Michael's Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Avenue, Stratford.
