Another Reason To Love Newtown
By John Boccuzzi, Sr
To The Editor:
At the risk of leaving out someone who was integral to the success of the "Senior Prom" [Friday, May 20], I would like to thank Amy Mangold and her staff at Parks and Recreation, Marilyn Place [director of the Newtown Senior Center], Judy Thomas [assistant to the director], and the volunteers at the Senior Center, Family and Children's Services of Newtown [now Newtown Youth & Family Services], the culinary arts program at Newtown High School, Kelly Paredes and the young people from Ben's Lighthouse who volunteered their time, Newtown High School staff and students, and any one else connected with this event. We had a lot of laughs, some outstanding food, great music to dance to, and other very special additions such as the photo booth and formal portraits.
I know many are looking forward to this continuing as a yearly event in Newtown. It is just another example of why Newtown is a great place to live.
Thanks again for a great evening, and apologies to any one I did not mention.
