DUI Incident
Police report that while on patrol about 11:20 pm on July 16, they stopped motorist Julian Graham, 50, of Bridgewater for a motor vehicle violation near 14 Main Street.
Police said that after investigating, they charged Graham with driving under the influence, failure to have a functioning taillamp, and failure to maintain the travel lane.
After processing the charges, police released Graham on $100 bail for a July 28 court appearance to answer the charges.
DUI Arrest
Police said that they responded to a three-vehicle accident that occurred about 8:55 pm on July 16 on Berkshire Road, near its intersection with Toddy Hill Road.
After investigating the incident, police charged motorist Robert Riley, Jr, 33, of Southbury with driving under the influence, following too closely, and failure to keep a prescription drug in its original container.
After processing, police released Riley on $100 bail for a July 26 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Evading Responsibility
Police are seeking the identity of a driver who was involved in a motor vehicle accident about 12:30 pm on July 13 near 153 South Main Street. That driver left the scene of the accident.
Police said witnesses told them that they saw the unknown motorist fleeing the scene of the crash in a tan sedan taht was heading southward on South Main Street.
Police ask anyone with information about the incident to contact investigating Officer Matthew Hayes at the police station at 203-426-5841.
Car Vs Tree
While traveling southward on Hattertown Road, near its intersection with Saddle Ridge Road, at about 4:40 pm on July 16, motorist Joel C. Thompson, 61, of 14 Castle Meadow Road, who was driving a 2003 Ford Taurus sedan, drifted off the roadway to the right and struck a tree, police report.
Thompson was not injured. Police said they gave him a written warning for making a restricted turn.
Botsford Collision
A two-vehicle accident occurred on the sharp curve on Botsford Hill Road at the Housatonic Railroad overpass at about 11 am on July 15, police report.
Motorist Thomas Burger III, 16, of New Canaan was driving a 2011 Nissan southward on Botsford Hill Road, as motorist Joseph Misencik, 82, of Wallingford was driving a 2010 Buick northward there, police said.
The Nissan failed to keep to the right on the sharp curve, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles, police said.
There were no injuries. Burger received a written warning for failure to drive to the right on a curve, police said.
Subaru Vs Nissan
About 5:40 pm on July 14, police report that a two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Wasserman Way and the Exit 11 off-ramp of Interstate 84 in Sandy Hook.
In that collision, motorist Michael Kulp, 25, of 64 Jeremiah Road, who was driving a 2002 Subaru Impreza station wagon, struck the rear end of a 2009 Nissan Altima coupe driven by Jeffrey Burnaska, 25, of Monroe, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they gave Kulp a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

Truck Hits Pole
Philip Braun, 53, of New Milford was driving a commercial 2007 Ford DRW truck westward near 39 Tunnel Road about 9:23 am July 13, when while negotiating a curve to the left, the truck went off the right side of the road, striking a curbside mailbox and a utility pole, police report.
Braun was not injured. Police said they verbally warned Braun for making a restricted turn.
Sandy Hook Accident
Police report a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Toddy Hill Road and Berkshire Road about 5:50 pm on July 13.
The collision involved motorist Christian Cortese, 23, of New Fairfield, who was driving a 2006 Audi S-4 sedan, and motorist Kathryn Lasky, 40, of Oxford, who was driving a 2004 Ford F-250 pickup truck, police said.
Police said they issued Cortese an infraction for passing on the right and for failure to renew a vehicle registration.
Main Street
Police said that they stopped motorist Jose Estrella, 39, of Bridgeport to investigate at about 10 pm on July 13 near 21 Main Street.
Estrella was then charged with traveling too fast and with driving under suspension, police report. Police released Estrella on $30 bail for a July 26 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Van Hit
Police report that an unknown motorist who was making a left turn from westbound Church Hill Road onto southbound Main Street about 12:15 pm on July 13, struck the left rear corner of a parked unoccupied commercial 2010 Ford E-250 van, which was positioned near the Newtown Meeting House.
The unknown driver then drove southward on Main Street, leaving the scene of the collision, police said. Police ask anyone with information on the incident to contact investigating Officer Jeff Silver.
Civic Vs Corvette
At about 6:04 pm on July 18, a two-car accident occurred near 153 South Main Street, police report.
Southbound motorist Karen Zantay, 47, of Ridgefield, who was driving a 2006 Honda Civic sedan, signaled to make a left turn, so southbound motorist Christopher Tatalias, 48, of Huntington, who was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Corvette, attempted to pass the Civic on the right, according to police.
The Civic then suddenly turned to the right, striking the Corvette, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Zantay for making a restricted turn.
Two-Car Collision
Police report a two-car accident near 46 Church Hill Road about 9 pm on July 17. Motorist Robert Murdy, 31, of Woodbury, who was driving a two-door 1989 Ford Escort eastward on Church Hill Road, stopped for traffic conditions, after which the Ford was struck from behind by an eastbound 1995 Subaru Legacy station wagon driven by Susana Monteiro, 24, of Danbury, said police, who issued an infraction to Monteiro for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Copper Theft
Police report that sometime between May and the beginning of July, someone forced entry into the basement of a vacant house on Hawleyville Road, near its intersection with North Ridge Drive, and stole between 150 feet and 200 feet of copper plumbing pipe.

Three Charges
After learning that they held a warrant for his arrest, a boy turned himself over to police at the police station on July 20 and was charged with second-degree threatening, second-degree reckless endangerment, and second-degree breach of peace, police said.
Police started an investigation into a complaint on June 15, after learning that the boy had allegedly threatened another student while on a Newtown public school bus in February.
Police said the arrested youth was released and is scheduled to appear on August 8 in Danbury Juvenile Court. Because the person arrested in under age 18, his identity is shielded from public disclosure by state law.
