Support The Families Of Fallen Heroes

To the Editor:

On August 6 we learned of the tragic loss of 22 Navy Seals and eight Army Rangers/Air Force and Air National Guard members in Afghanistan. Many of us have had friends, neighbors, and family members who have served and are serving our country. I would like to ask that you consider making a contribution to support the family members of these fallen heroes.

Although I do not have the information for the Army, Air Force, and NE Air National Guard support organizations, here is information regarding the Navy Seal Foundation, a 501(c)(3) support organization.

If you would like to make a donation to the families, please direct donations to the Navy SEAL Foundation; if you are donating to a specific individual, use the first and last name of the service member followed by Memorial Fund.

USN Chief Petty Officer Dan Kearns, commander of VFW Post 308 here in Newtown, has also announced today that contributions will be accepted at the club off of Wasserman Way. Please make checks payable to: Navy Seal Foundation; on your memo section of the check note Fallen Heroes Fund. “We want to help in any way we can” said Kearns. “All contributions will be forwarded to the foundation”
