Hometown Heroes

To the Editor:

Oftentimes the people we count on the most go unnoticed. They perform tireless acts to serve our community that they simply consider part of their everyday life. These same people seem to regularly find time and ways to give back even more to the community simply because they believe it is the right thing to do.

We were fortunate to witness countless acts of this selflessness during our Hometown Heroes celebration at Tumble Jungle as many of Newtown’s finest joined us to help educate our kids on health, safety, and serving our community. We would like to personally thank all of Newtown’s Hometown Heroes, but in particular those who were kind enough to join us the week of August 2 for our Hometown Heroes celebration. These heroes include the Botsford Fire Rescue Company, Newtown emergency medical technicians Chelsea and Harry, Newtown Transportation Department officials Maritza Nezvesky, Cathy Hydeck, and owner and operator Maria Adams, physical therapists Beth Beatty and Theodore Jameson of Ashlar, and Officer Flynn from the Newtown Police Department.

We can’t thank all of you enough for taking time out of your busy lives to support our children and even more importantly for all you do to serve us all. It is people like you who make our community special. From all of us at Tumble Jungle we want to say thank you for all you do!

Thank You,

Jedd Morin
