*Meanwhile, fellow local guys THE ADULTS will open the weekend with a show at Proud Maryâs, at 19 Main Street in Newtown, and my friend, musician, and fellow Associate Editor, JOHN VOKET will be doing a two-set acoustic happy hour show just down the road at The One-Eyed Pig, 71 South Main Street (within Rickyâs Plaza). Showtime for John is 5-8 pm.
*Tickets for BOB DYLANâs September 8 show at Mohegan Sun Arena will be going on sale this weekend. Tickets are $49.50 for this one ($64.45 with taxes and fees), and will be available through TicketMaster beginning at 10 am Friday, July 13.
They will also be available at the casinoâs box office beginning at 10 am Saturday if they havenât sold out by then.
*Singer-songwriter GOTYE (âSomebody That I Used To Knowâ) will perform live at Mohegan Sun Arena with special guests Missy Higgins & Jonti on Wednesday, September 26.
Tickets are $25 and $35 and go on sale Friday, July 20, at 10 am, through TicketMaster online, through the vendorâs national Charge By Phone line at 800-745-3000, and at any Ticketmaster outlet. Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office starting Saturday, July 21, subject to availability.
*The Webster in Hartford is hosting a benefit event next month for The VH-1 Save The Music Foundation.
LIFE ON THE SIDELINE, RAVEN DOWN, MEET EMILY, GABRIEL BG, WHITE ROSE CONFESSION, REVOLUTION ARCADE and at least six additional bands will be performing in the theaterâs Underground stage on Saturday, August 25, beginning by late afternoon (doors open at 3).
Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 the day of the show, and proceeds will continue the non-profit organizations efforts to restore instrumental music education programs in Americaâs public schools, as well as to raise awareness about the importance of music (yea!!!) âas part of each childâs complete education,â according to Save The Musicâs mission statement.
