To the Editor:

As the 2016-2017 school year gets underway, the College/Career Center at Newtown High School would like to express how grateful we are to all the individuals, businesses, and community organizations that make it possible for high school students to explore careers. We acknowledge the time and effort it takes to provide quality career experiences for students and are thankful to live and work in a community that strives to make a difference in the lives of our youth. We would like to express our thanks to the following individuals and organizations and wish them success in the year ahead: Advisors Trust, Aquarion Water Company, Avielle Foundation, Bethel Health Care, Cave Comics, Center for Pediatric Medicine, Childcare Associates, Church Hill Physical Therapy, Claris Construction, Colonial Chiropractic, Dental Associates, Dr Baroody, Dr Notaro, Doctors Express, EdAdvance, Lincoln Financial Advisors Corporation, Jensine Eckwall, Joe Pedalino, John Cappelletti, Media Associates, Mt Pleasant Hospital for Animals, New Milford Orthopedic Associates, Newtown Rotary, Newtown Savings Bank, SHOP, Thin Air, LLC, Unilever, Western Connecticut State University, Yale University's Discovery to Cure Program.

We would like to thank the following town departments and schools for "above and beyond" support of our students and programs: Economic and Community Development Office, Edmond Town Hall, Hawley School, Head O' Meadow School, NPS Business Office, Newtown High School, Newtown Senior Center, and the Sandy Hook Preschool. We would also like to acknowledge teachers that provided extraordinary career exploration and learning opportunities to our students: Colleen Bryant, Kathy Davey, Trent Harrison, Erik Holst-Grubbe, Sayward Parsons, Stephanie Ramsey, Keri Snowden, and Nicole Vega.
