Christina & Alan Popowski
Christina Nicole Klanica and Alan Joseph Popowski were married on October 8, 2011, by Father Cyrus Bartolome at St Maryâs Church in Bethel. A daughter of Bonnie and David Klanica of Newtown, the bride was given into marriage by her father.
For her wedding day, Christina wore a gown by Casablanca she found at Majesty Bridal in Danbury, and carried a bouquet of mango-colored calla lilies arranged by Confetti, LLC of Redding.
Her maid of honor was Amanda Dunne of Astoria, N.Y., while her bridesmaids were Cristina Griffin of Philadelphia; Kristine Vichiola of Newtown; Heather Popowski of Wellington, Fla.; Stephanie Johnson of Brockton, Mass.; and Kate Schaefer of Medway, Mass.
The attendants all wore similar dresses by Regency, which they had found at Davidâs Bridal, and carried bouquets that were a mix of Picasso calla lilies, lavender lisianthus, white dendros and deep orange ranunculus.
Ava Popowski of Wellington was the flower girl.
Brian Popowski of Wellington, the groomâs twin brother, was the best man. Ushers were Frank Griffin of Philadelphia; Michael Daniels of Watertown, N.Y.; John Dietier of Brookfield; Keith Neidig of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and Dave Klanica of Newtown.
A reception followed at the home of the brideâs parents. A 60- by 120-foot tent had been set up, providing shade and a gathering location for guests on a sunny, 73-degree October afternoon. At night there were a full moon, stars, and even a few wedding crashers.
