VIPERS 4, TRUMBULL 0 (State Cup): Paul Andras scored three goals (his fourth hat trick of the season) to lead the Vipers past Trumbull in the State Cup semi-finals. Kevin Troy also scored while Jason Smith and Justin Miller controlled the midfield and found comfort in having Kevin Davies, Mat DeBrantes, Chris Schreiber and Chris Meier on defense. Goalie Danny Smith recorded the shutout for the Vipers. Anthony Florez and Max Hoagland also gave tireless minutes up front for Newtown.
VIPERS 6, NEW FAIRFIELD 2: Paul Andras scored a natural hat trick while Drew Taylor, Justin Miller and Nick Kallivrousis all scored one apiece to lead the Vipers â now 8-0-0 in the Northwest District â in their final regular season game. Ethan Canfield, Kevin Troy and Max Hoagland supported the offense.

ROCKETS 2, CHESHIRE 0 (State Cup): Mary Anders scored a pair of goals (both off rebounds of shots by Alex Konneker) to lead the Rockets to the win and lead the team on to the State Cup final, where the Rockets will be defending their championship title in Newington on Saturday. Siobhan Cooper played well on offense, Mary Ober was solid in the midfield, and Megan Rawson, Elyssa (âEeeefenseâ) Samsel and goaltenders Tori Thomas and Caitlin Hansen sparked the defense.

STRIKERS 2, DYNAMITE 1: Danielle Springmeyer and Elizabeth LaPerch scored to lift the Strikers past the Dynamite. Lauren Hebert plaued a strong game. Shannon Kirch, Ginelle Gaulin-McKenzie and Sophie Cerreta all played well for the Dynamite.

NIGHTMARE 4, SHOOTING STARS 3: Kristen Gucciardo and Katie Powers scored two goals apiece to lead the Nightmare past the Shooting Stars. Kelsey DeCesare, Emily Lockhart and Lisa Favicchia all played well. For the Stars, Sara Shannon scored twice and Nicole Haylon once. Jane Cozens played well.
DESTROYERS 3, TIGERS 3: Lilly McHugh, Christina Sanchez and Allison Lehrer all scored for the Destroyers while Emily Snyder had a nice game on defense. Stephanie Soder and Danielle Norris scored a pair of late goals to help the Tigers tie the Destroyers. Melissa Schreiber also scored and Michelle Haitz was solid in goal.
BOMBERS 3, RAZORS 1: Kasey Shulz scored three goals for the Bombers while Alex Thomas and Lindsey Lively assisted. Katlin Marsden played a great defensive game. For the Razors, Jacqui Kirel scored a goal while Kim Andrews and Kelsey Happer played a solid D. Theresa Bibeau was also strong on offense.

COYOTES 2, HURRICANES 0: Kyle Droniak and George Zaruba scored the goals that lifted the Coyotes to the win. Eric Rardin and Kyle Kearney anchored the defense. For the Hurricanes, Peter Leone and Josh Baron led the offense and Christopher Bock led the defense. Drew Woods did a great job in goal.
LIGHTNING 3, TORNADOES 3: In a hard played contest, the Lightningâs Tyler Edwards, Brandon McGuinn, and Samuel Morrison each scored a goal. Dale Neves and Nicholas Neves played well. For the Tornadoes, Matthew Yakush scored twice and Neris Halili scored once. Stephen Gumbrecht, Hiram Orama and Evan Sapienza played well.
ROADRUNNERS 3, PANTHERS 2: Kyle DiNicola, Ian Cooper and Nick Ciarelli scored the goals that lifted the Roadrunners to the win. R.J. Swift and Stephen Ashbolt anchored the defense. For the Panthers, Michael Cagganello scored two goals while Michael Giglio supported the offensive effort. Kyle Hensel and Daniel Burns led the defense.

FLYING PIZZAS 4, ROCKETS 4: Andy Hsu, Andrew Cebry, Matt Williams and Timmy Culligan all scored to lead the Flying Pizzas. RJ Roman, Joshua Zimmerman and Richard Andreotta scored for the Rockets.
TIGERSHARKS 4, TITANS 2: Andre Capozziello scored three goals and William Arndt added a solo to lead the Tigersharks to the win. Arndt had a pair of assists and Lewis Thompson had one. Scott Wexler and Kyle McCarthy played well. For the Titans, Kevin Curry and Eric Koegler lead the powerful Titan attack with a goal a piece. Ben DâAgostino had some brilliant saves between the pipes to keep the game close.
ROADRUNNERS 4, SHARKS 2: Kyle Moore, Tim Dalton, James Truckle and Austin Baldour all scored goals for the Roadrunners. Tommy Stewart (assisted by Drew Robinson) and Bryan Czel tallied for the Sharks. Matthew Yitts played great defense for the Sharks while Matthew Hodge made some super defensive stops for the Roadrunners and Zach Bryan excelled in the goal.
DRAGONS 5, FALCONS 0: Ben Morrison scored three goals and Oliver Powers and Sam Hoagland scored one each to spark the Dragons to the win. Sean Maher and Luke Fiore had solid all-around games. For the Falcons, Andy Lapple and Willie Northrop played well on offense while Max Eckhart and Johnny Moeler led the defense.
TORNADOES 4, WOLFPACK 1: Tory Deakin scored three goals and Ryan Donnegan added another to lead the Tornadoes to the win. Tim Wilmott, Chris Roberto and Zack Dent powered the defense. For the Wolfpack, Jake Barrett scored the goal off an assist from Colby Summerlin. Jamie Radcliffe and Morgan Luzzi anchored the defense.

SCREAMING NIGHTMARES 1, ROCKETS 1: Hillary Buzaid, Kaley Kruger, Alina Schwartz and Erica Green played well for the Screaming Nightmares while Nicole Vournazos (a goal), Sara Murtha and Elena Rose all had solid performances.
TORNADOES 2, TIGERS 0: Kate Bowen and Ally Modzelewski scored one goal apiece to lift the Tornadoes past the Tigers. Melanie Scott and Susie Giarratano sparked the defense of the Tornadoes while Samantha Dinnan, Kyra Smith, Meaghan Wilson and Jennifer Smith played well for the Tigers.
TORNADOES 2, LIGHTNING 0: Kelly Anne Brophy and Katie Pressin scored their first goals of the year and helped lift the Tornadoes to another win (their 15th of the fall/spring season against no defeats). Briana LeBlanc and Colleen Cunningham led the defense. Also helping lead the team to a 15-0 record was Emma Whitley-Rodriguez. For the Lightning in this game, Ellen Tabler, Sarah Burnick, Jamie Keating, Amanda Swift and Meredith LaPerch all played well.
LIGHTNING 4, DOLPHINS 0: Ellen Tabler scored a pair of goals while Paige Woodhouse and Taylor Smith scored solo goals to lead the Lightning to the win. Kara Brown and Samantha Wray were outstanding on defense. For the Dolphins, Audra Sarna and Becky Lipwick were solid on offense as Alison Pliska and Molly Shelluck anchored the defense.

HURRICANES 2, SOUTHBURY 0: Megan Hansen ignited the Hurricaneâs offense with the opening goal on a penalty kick as the team continued their stellar play. Nora Lynn Shimko assisted by Genna Scheuerell and Tania Domingos added an insurance goal. The strong defensive play of Molly Curry along with Colleen Thornberg made the job easier for both Cassie David and Haley Keane as goalies to preserve the shutout.

NITROS 3, BROOKFIELD 3: Newtown showed great resiliency by coming back twice from deficits of 2-0 and 3-1 to force a tie in an exciting game with Brookfield. The defense was the key to the comeback, with Kristene Salbu and Jennifer Iassogna turning a fast Brookfield squad away time and again in the second half, while Rachel Eastman and Heather Young played a strong midfield. Darcy Fiscella, Erica Vacaro and Lindsay Weber found the net for the Nitros.

RAGE 2, SOUTHBURY 1: Brian Conroy and Nick Sando scored goals to lead Newtown. Jack Quinn and Joe Rahtelli assisted on the scores. Steven marks made 10 saves in goal for the Rage. Matt Norris, Eric Macknight and Ross Macleod provided offensive support for Newtown.
