Chase Collegiate School’s ‘Cornerstone Campaign Two’ Tops $15 million

Waterbury — On July 1, the Chase Collegiate School Board of Trustees announced the successful completion of its $15 million Cornerstone Campaign Two.

Representing the single largest fundraising initiative in the history of the 147-year-old institution, the trustees expressed appreciation for the generosity of alumni, parents, friends of the school, foundations, and corporations.

“Cornerstone Campaign Two has been an exciting and transformative period for Chase Collegiate,” said Maggie Smith of Morris, campaign co-chair and proprietor of Winvian in Morris.

The following are highlights of the campaign: doubling the school’s endowment to $11 million, with an eye on environmental design, renovating and expanding the upper school to accommodate 220 students; strengthening the athletics program; enhancing and renovating every major campus facility; constructing an outdoor classroom pavilion; and tripling in size The Copper Beech Society, Chase’s planned giving program. In addition, the school announced upcoming campaign-funded improvements, including planned renovations for McTernan Centennial Library.

Chase Collegiate School is a co-educational independent day school serving students pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Its 47-acre campus educates 460 students from more than 50 area communities. More information is available at www.chasecollegiate.org.
